Plastic surgery is becoming more and more popular to both men and women even in Austin. In fact, men are beginning to have a different perspective towards cosmetic surgery and have begun to enjoy the benefits of this procedure as well as women.

You can see in the figures mentioned above there has been a significant increase in the number of patients in only ten years.
Based on the same statistics that ASPS released, the majority of patients that had the procedures were women although the number of male patients have been steadily growing as well. Based on the data gathered, the most popular surgical procedures that women go through are:
Breast Augmentation - 399, 440 procedures in 2007 as compared to 101, 176 procedures in 1997
Lipoplasty - 398,848 procedures in 2007 as compared to 145, 887 procedures in 1997
Eyelid Surgery - 208,199 procedures in 2007 as compared to 135, 757 in 1997
Abdominoplasty - 180,457 procedures in 2007 as compared to 32, 813 in 1997
Breast Reduction - 153, 087 procedures in 2007 as compared to 47, 874 in 1997
On the other hand, the most popular procedures that male patients go through are the following:
Liposuction - 57,980 in 2007 as compared to 28,308 in 1997
Eyelid surgery - 32,564 in 2007 as compared to 23,488 in 1997
Rhinoplasty - 31,713 in 2007 as compared to 44, 452 in 1997
Male breast reduction - 20, 280 in 2007 as compared to 11, 168 in 1997
Hair transplant - 16, 491 in 2007 as compared to 50, 566 in 1997
As shown in the data above, there have been a significant change in the number of patients that took cosmetic surgery. These figures only entails those that have undergone surgical procedures. There are also patients that have been subject to non surgical procedures and they have a larger number.
